According to the Foreign Investment Agency, which operates under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Vietnam drew around $16.24 billion in investments during the first seven months of this year, representing a year-on-year increase of 4.5%.
There were 1,293 newly registered projects during the time, with a combined capital of $7.94 billion. This represents an increase of 75.5% in the number of projects and 38.6% in the capital when compared to the same period in the previous year.
Additionally, 736 projects received $2.93 billion.
FDI was highest in manufacturing and processing at $10.93 billion. it is followed by real estate ($1.61 billion).
During the period from January to July, capital was invested into Vietnam by 94 different nations and territories. Singapore was the leading investor with $3.64 billion, a decrease of 15.5% year-on-year.
